When someone fills out your contact form, their message is saved inside WordPress as an "entry" — in addition to (or instead of) arriving by email, depending on how your form was set up.

Viewing submissions

  • In the admin menu, look for Forms (this is added by your form plugin, commonly Gravity Forms).
  • Click on your contact form's name, then click Entries.
  • You'll see a list of every submission, newest first, with the sender's name and a preview of their message.
  • Click any entry to read the full submission.
  • Screenshot placeholder

Check here if you think you're missing an inquiry If an expected email notification never arrived (sometimes caught by spam filters), the submission itself is always safely stored here regardless.

    Exporting submissions

Useful for keeping records or importing leads into another tool.

  • From your form's entry list, look for an Export option (often under a form's "Import/Export" or a button above the entries list).
  • Choose the date range and fields you want to include.
  • Click Download Export File — you'll get a spreadsheet-friendly file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Deleting spam entries

Contact forms occasionally receive automated spam. Most is filtered automatically, but if you spot an obvious spam entry:

  • From the entries list, check the box next to the spam entry (or open it).
  • Choose Trash or Mark as Spam from the available actions.
  • Take a moment before deleting Unlike pages and posts, some form entries may not be recoverable after deletion depending on your settings. If you're ever unsure whether an entry is genuine, it's worth a second look before removing it.
