If your blog allows reader comments, new ones typically wait for your approval before appearing publicly — a simple, effective way to keep spam and inappropriate content off your site.

The Comments screen with hover actions: Approve, Reply, Spam, Trash
Approving a comment
Click Approve. It's now visible on your live website, under the post it was written on.
Deleting a comment
Click Trash. Like pages and posts, trashed comments can be restored for a period of time if removed by mistake — go to Comments → Trash to recover one.
Marking as spam
If a comment is clearly spam (unrelated links, gibberish, obvious advertising), click Spam instead of Trash. This helps WordPress's spam filter get smarter over time and catch similar comments automatically in the future.
Most spam is caught automatically
Your site includes spam filtering, so genuinely obvious spam rarely reaches your Pending queue in the first place. What lands there for review tends to be real comments from real people.
